Sonic Precedents

As a result of the Podcast Worskshops held at place I’ve been able to learn a little something about how to edit and create clips of sounds.

Here’s what I created in the final session – I was trying to explore sound precedents. By doing this I wanted to highlight, and explore, how different spaces can create different sounds and atmospheres. By focussing on the spoken word in this I am trying to show how the impact and power of a poem is changed by how it is spoken, and how sound works in the place it is spoken.

So this clip’s intension is to proffer the question of how the sound of sound is important, and I think it does start to do that, allbeit as a first attempt in sound clip editting.
