Questioning Accuracy.

There are certain moments when designing where you hit an obstacle. One of the skills of architect’s, and the whole design community, is in being the solution finder. We are the ones who imaginatively see problems as opportunities.

A problem does not have to be a limiting factor. At the time this can sometimes seem impossible – you’re stuck, down and out, frustrated – yet you plod on. The determination to defeat the obstacle is important. It stirs us on.

Sometimes the problem is as simple as a software malfunction, sometimes it’s the miscommunication between plan and section. Regardless our tenacity will see us through. The old adage of ‘try and try again’ springs to mind.

I’ve currently moved from hand drawn plans into Cad in order to cement the accuracy of elements in my design. My seemingly meager problem at the moment? Cad isn’t openning, and some of my files refuse to work.  They’re all dwg’s, there seems no logical reason for the malfunction, and yet it’s holding me up, and it’s irritating! However, instead of wasting time I’m going to plod on, get something else out of the way and get this work done.

The problem elements in my plan are rectified through hand drawings now. I’ve checked the accuracy of my plans from yesterday and and simply rationalising through hand drawings any problems. Then I shall move on.

It’s a process of steps that all contribute to successful design.Sometimes we just need to recognise the diversions in our intended work pattern are not always bad things.
